| The practical universal wood dowelling set from wolfcraft consists of a drill gauge, a board clamp, an 8 mm Ø wood drill bit with depth stop and 40 dowel pins. It is the perfect piece of equipment for all edge-to-edge, corner butt and T-butt joints. You clamp the first board to the workbench using the handy board clamp and drill gauge. Then you position the second wooden board either horizontally or vertically using the two adjustable clamps. The drill gauge not only serves as a board clamp, but also as a drilling template. With its paired rows of three drill guide bushes for 6, 8 and 10 mm dowel pins, it enables you to make identical drill holes at exactly the same height. There is also a corresponding guide slot for each of the three dowel sizes for gauging already inserted dowel pins to enable exact positioning of the dowel holes for T-butt joints, for example. The holes in the wooden faces can only be drilled to a maximum depth of 2/3 of the wood thickness, making the depth stop included in the scope of delivery a big help with corner butt and T-butt joints in particular. It can be used to reliably set the drilling depth. Edge-to-edge joints For edge-to-edge joints, lay both boards on the workbench on top of one another and clamp them using the drill gauge and the two clamps. Drilling into the paired drill guide bushes guarantees perfectly fitting counterholes on the front edges. Corner butt joints For corner butt joints, re-attach the clamps so that the second board can be clamped at right angles to the first. You can now drill both the front hole in the bottom board and the matching hole in the side board. The depth stop included in the scope of delivery ensures that your hole does not exceed the correct drilling depth. You can then simply push the drill gauge along the edge to the next drilling position. Finish by moving the board clamp to the other end so that the drill gauge can also precisely determine the outer hole. T-butt joints For T-butt joints, start by gluing the dowel pins into the face side of the bottom board. Draw the position of the bottom board on the side board using a pencil. A marking on the drill gauge ensures the correct spacing between the bottom board and the pencil line. Next slide the guide slot over the dowel pin, which guarantees the exact position for the counterholes. Drill, glue, done – never has it been so easy to make exact round dowel joints. |
